Doris J. (Balczak) Olsen

Doris (Balczak) Olsen, 95 passed away peacefully on Monday April 8, 2024. Doris was born and raised in the Grand Rapids area. She graduated from Comstock Park High School. She married Joseph Lenartz Jr. in 1948. Together they had eight children. Sadly, Joseph passed away unexpectedly in 1977.

Over the next couple of years she began a relationship with Harold Olsen, who was also recently widowed. They married in 1979 and moved to Florida where they lived for the next 34 yrs until Harold's passing. Doris returned to Grand Rapids to be near her family in 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ray & Victoria Balczak, her husbands Joseph and Harold, her brother Ronald Balczak. her daughters Cynde & Jodean Lenartz, and her sons John & James Lenartz. She is survived by her brother Robert Balczak, her children Robin Anderson, Joseph Lenartz lll, Lisa (Roger) Donovan, Janna Lenartz and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Our family would like to extend our gratitude to Mission Point of Cedar Springs and Emmanuel Hospice for their compassionate care. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service. Her remains will be placed next to Harold's in Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida.
