Gail Marie (Smith) Herbert

Gail Marie Herbert went home to her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2024 after a two year battle with Multiple Myeloma.  Gail was born July 23, 1956 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Marilyn Smith and the late Don Smith.  Gail was also preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Smith and Brett Smith.

Gail is survived by her mother; son Tony (Kelsi) Herbert, Grandson Grady Herbert, daughter Heather (Todd Schten) Smith; her siblings Gary, Diane, Don and Julie.  Gail had many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Nana, she will forever be Nana to her favorite people.  Gail also cherished her good friend and partner in mischief Theresa (Teri) Gooding, over the years they traveled together frequently and laughed often at the many funny memories they made.

Gail was a faithful member of Centerpoint Church and had an amazing group of friends with whom she shared her joyful relationship with God.  Any free time Gail had was often deeply rooted in Bible Study with many friends and the relationships built on a shared Testimony of Redemption.

Gail’s friendships were many and lasted a lifetime, she happily stayed close with the GHS Class of 1974 and rarely missed a class reunion with this year being the 50th, and she will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to thank Rose Arbor Hospice who made a comforting place for our family to spend time together before the Lord called her home. A Celebration of Life is being planned by the family at a later date to be held at Centerpoint Church.
