Sally Bauer Obituary

Brothers and sisters, we gather today under the grace of our Lord to celebrate the homecoming of a precious soul, our beloved Sally Esther Bauer, affectionately known to many as Meema. Born on the ninth day of March in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and forty-eight, in the humble town of Hopkins, Michigan, Sally walked this earthly realm with a heart full of love and hands ready to serve until her peaceful departure on the fourteenth day of April, twenty twenty-four, in the very town that first cradled her.

As the Good Book tells us, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." - Psalm 116:15. Sally was indeed precious, a beacon of faith that shone brightly, guiding her family and friends with a loving spirit and a gentle laughter that echoed the joy of the Lord.

Sally's roots ran deep in Hopkins, where she was born to her dear parents Joe and Nina Roxury, who, along with the love of her life, Albert David Bauer, and her brothers Dennis and Terry Roxury, have preceded her in glory. She grew up surrounded by her loving siblings Jim, Danny, Michael, Tom, Pat, JoAnne, and Mary, a family bound by love and shared memories.

After graduating from Hopkins High School in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and sixty-six, Sally dedicated her professional life to the Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland, where she ran the office with the same care and attention she gave to her own family. She ordered medical supplies, ensuring those in need were well provided for, a testament to her unwavering service to others.

But it was in the role of Meema that Sally truly flourished. Her children, Rhob and Aaron Bauer, alongside Maria Melinn and Heidi Green, were blessed to call her mother. Her love extended to her grandchildren - Michael and Angel Melinn, who now rest in the Lord's embrace, and Jonah, Hannah, Isaiah, Chloe, Olivia, David, Abby, Annastasxia, Rhys, and Anthony, and her cherished great-granddaughter River Jo, all of whom felt the warmth of her endless affection.

Sally's love knew no bounds, and she embraced every soul as if they were her own. Her faith-filled life was a testament to the love of Christ, which she exemplified in every action, every word, and every moment spent in the embrace of nature during the warm summer months.

Her interests were simple yet profound. Family was her cornerstone, and the great outdoors her sanctuary. Whether under the shade of a mighty oak or the comfort of her own home, Sally was a mother not only to her kin but to all who had the privilege to cross her path.

In her laughter, there was wisdom. In her embrace, there was safety. Sally was the embodiment of a life well-lived, a life filled with love, humor, and the kind of faith that moves mountains. She walked in the light of the truth, and now she rests in the eternal glory of God's kingdom.

As we bid farewell to Sally Esther Bauer, let us carry forward the legacy of love she has left behind. Let her life be a reminder to each of us to cherish our loved ones, to find joy in the simple pleasures of life, and to walk in faith as she did, with a heart open to the wonders of God's creation.

Though her physical presence is no longer among us, her spirit lives on in the memories we share, in the love that binds us, and in the laughter that will continue to resonate in our hearts. Sally, our Meema, we thank the Lord for the time we had with you, and we rejoice in the knowledge that you are now cradled in the arms of our Savior.

We do not say goodbye, for in Christ, there are no goodbyes. Instead, we say, until we meet again. May the Lord bless her and keep her; may He make His face to shine upon her, and be gracious unto her; may He lift up His countenance upon her and give her peace. Amen.
